Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb Experience
Come on! He is still not here; he was supposed to be here 15 minutes ago, everyone groans. By the way, did I tell you that I and some friends are going to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Finally, he is here! We wait nervously, scared and pumped for the BIG Bridge climb. Here comes the instructor guy. He talks us through the climb and about safety. We get in our humid sweaty suits on that look like onesie’s. The instructor told us some information about the Bridge and we were all stunned that the bridge was open to climb 16 years ago.
We silently shuffle to the start of the climb. Now I am starting to feel nerves. We are half way through the climb. I can smell the smoke and the fresh air coming from traffic and the water below us.
Oh no! We are on top of the bridge and I am packing myself with fear. I cannot believe that we made it.
We were successful. Now I can hear the beautiful whistle ling of the wind in my ear, water crushing against boats and the ongoing traffic underneath. I can see the most stunning view I have seen in my life. I see the Sydney Opera House, boats and a great view of this sunny day in Sydney.
As we started to make our way down I can taste the dryness in my mouth from the wind. It is now our last step off the Sydney harbour bridge on to land. I fell to my knees and kissed the ground. I am still alive.
It was just amazing climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This climb was a one in a life time experience that I will never forget!!
